With two solid European releases and numerous big name remixes, Surkin is primed to take Europe by storm and for such a young face he has already made quite a splash. The French dance label Institubes picked Surkin up in 2005 and put out his first release 'Radio Fireworks' soon after.



Armed with only a MIDI mixer and his laptop, Surkin has toured extensively in Europe (and a show in NY) with DJs and producers from the Institubes Crew.I found this video of Surkin and Teki Latex at Rex Club in Paris doing a little mash of DMX and Daft Punk. I dig it.

Surkin has branched off from the typical French sample-based club music and made a style of music that's all his own. He's able to combine hard hitting drums compressed drums, quick laser-synths and julienned samples into really fun tracks. Some may find his style repetitive and lacking substance but only a guy like Surkin can make a five minute club banger from a five second sample. Be sure to check out Surkin's latest release 'Fireworks Refired' (can be purchased on Beatport) which features new remixes by Tacteel, Riot in Belgium and DJ Slugo. Keep an eye on Surkin.
