Dangerous Like Godzilla
SebastiAn has been pleasing my eardrums for the past year or so, since I first heard his remix of “Human After All.” Lucky for me, then, that the man behind the bossiest remix of “Bossy,” the brightest remix of “Golden Skans,” and arguably the most robotic remix of “Human After All,” has dropped a couple more bangers in the past month or so.
“Greel” is probably my favorite track of the year so far. I know I’m late to write about it, but I only recently found the words to describe why I love it so. I knew I loved the darkness the sparse, heavily distorted instrumental conjures up in my brain. I love it for being loud. And I love the way the drum track implies, so much so that it’s near impossible to listen to “Greel” standing still.
“Greel” reminds me of an enormous, robotic dragon rampaging through the streets, in an area downtown Oakland. This dragon has rusted, his wings no longer function, and he’s having a little difficulty directing the fire shooting from his snout. But honestly, he’s a robotic dragon; he can make do. The city’s days are numbered.

This second number is a new interpretation of the freshest track on “Ross Ross Ross.” “Walkman” was a banger to begin with, the rework sees it further realize its potential as a dance track. The ending is unbelievable.
